Ammanford accountants help Llandybie school buy maths resources online

An Ammanford accountants shop is helping support young local mathematicians by donating to help a local elementary school purchase an online math resource.

Ashmole and Co’s office in Ammanford is committed to supporting math education in the area, helping Llandybie Primary School purchase the online resource for pupils, MyMaths.

Llandybie Primary School made the decision during the Covid-19 pandemic to purchase MyMaths as pupils had to study from home during lockdown or self-isolation.

The program allows teachers to set tasks for students and provide tutorials to show them the mathematical concepts being taught.

Llandybie Principal Rhian Pritchard said: “We want to continue to use online resources to enhance our pupils’ learning experience, but they come at an additional cost.

“We are grateful to Ashmole and Co for the donation which will enable us to continue the offer of online mathematics learning.”

Laura Craddock, Ashmole & Co’s office partner in Ammanford, said: “We recently welcomed pupils from Llandybie Primary School to our office so they could see for themselves how we use maths at daily accounting.

“We are always keen to offer our support locally. We are more than happy to help fund the MyMaths online resource to help train the local accountants of tomorrow.
