Bow Valley College Acquires Funding for Places to Support More Students


Calgary, May 16, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Bow Valley College announces that it has received $4.6 million from the Government of Alberta to add significantly more seats in six of its programs. These 426 spaces will allow the College to support learners on their journey to employment in key industry sectors across the province, including healthcare, technology and the performing arts.

“With the addition of these critical additional seats, Bow Valley College continues to demonstrate its commitment to producing job-ready graduates in all of Alberta’s existing and emerging sectors,” said Dr. Misheck Mwaba, President. and CEO of Bow Valley College. “Bow Valley College is constantly exploring new and innovative ways to help employers hire the right people with the right skills, quickly,” says Dr. Mwaba.

The College is adding places in the following programs:

• Certificate in Business Administration

• Nursing assistant certificate

• Licensed practical nurse

• Diploma in Information Technology Systems

• Diploma in software development

• Entertainment Arts Foundation Certificate

“Whether they are beginning their career path or changing industries, students who enter one of these programs at the College will see the benefits of the time and effort they put in in the classroom,” says Michael Crowe , Vice President of Bow Valley College, Academic. “Expanding these programs means we’re able to open doors for even brighter minds who are considering taking the next step in their career path,” Crowe said.

These additional places will be available from this September term and applications for these programs are open now.
