Digital home kitchen company Cookd raises pre-seed funding

CHENNAI: Cookd, a home cooking-focused content, community and commerce company, has raised $ 600,000 in pre-seed funding led by Konglo Ventures, Kerala Angel Network and other top Angels in the food industry, including leaders of food ingredients players like Synthite and Kancor. South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh and actor Kathir have also invested in the company.
The Chennai-based digital food content brand aims to make cooking at home easy, efficient and fun by providing home cooks with information and advice on the best recipes to cook, the right ingredients to buy and the right equipment and the right methods to use, among others.
The company plans to use the funding to foray into the D2C segment with its new app and acquire customers by presenting a one-stop-shop for everything food-related, including easy recipes, meals, and food planners. ‘grocery store. The startup started in 2020 creating easy-to-replicate recipe videos for social media. Within a year, it gained popularity on social networks. Today, it has an online footprint of over 1.5 million subscribers across all social media platforms, over 31 million views, and over 15 million minutes of content watched month after month.
