Lloydminster receives $215,000 for Family Resource Center

“These additional centers will ensure that more Saskatchewan children and families have access to high quality, affordable, flexible and inclusive early learning and child care services.

The Border Town Center will be developed in partnership with the Lloydminster Public School Division (LPSD), who will be responsible for leading a community planning team in this process. The scheduled opening is for fall 2022.

Trisha Rawlake, superintendent of education for the LPSD, said in a statement to battlefordsNOW that the division is delighted to be a partner in this initiative, which will have a significant impact on the region.

“This center will serve as a community resource for all of our Lloydminster families with young children,” she said. “We are committed to bringing together the right partners in a concerted effort to help our young people reach their full potential.

Once these additions are built, Saskatchewan will have a total of 15 centres.

The national investment to support access to high-quality, inclusive, affordable and flexible child care in Saskatchewan is approximately $68.5 million over four years.
