we travela booking and payment platform for the multi-day travel industry, launched a Women on the road vertical in its WeTravel Academy, which hosts free resources and educational tools for travel professionals on topics such as sustainability, inclusivity and well-being.
The Women in Travel vertical is designed to better support and represent people who identify as women in the travel industry, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 for equality in tourism by empowering women and girls.
The vertical will feature content co-created with industry experts covering topics such as supporting intersectionality in climate justice, inclusive experiences to add to travel products, and empowering equal outcomes within a travel company.
WeTravel says the vertical is meant to bring together BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, cis women, anyone who identifies as female or with femininity – including transwomen, transfeminines – and non-binary people traveling together in one place.
“As a vertical business, purpose-built for the travel industry, we have critically considered opportunities to further support communities impacted by tourism – and all stakeholders within communities – to use our business as a force for good,” says Zaky Prabowo, Co-Founder and CMO of WeTravel.

Launched in December 2021, the WeTravel Academy features over 500 content items, which have been uploaded by over 2,500 travel agencies and travel advisors.
WeTravel, founded in 2016, is used by over 3,500 travel companies for over 350,000 travelers. Last month, the platform introduced instant payment functionality to its fintech offerings.
He raised $2 million in funding in 2018.
